"Stefano G. Pavesi was born in Milan on September 1967. He
has been attended the University of Agriculture in Milan for 5
years, he has been qualified with credit in agriculture and
science and then he attended the Professional Institute of
Photography "Riccardo Bauer" of Milan, (diploma with
distinction in photography). He started his professional career
in 1987 as assistant in a photo studio specialised in
still-life and portraits from 1986 to 1993 and then as
free-lance photographer specialized in still-life for
advertising from 1993-1994.
Then he chose the reportage as main activity and collaborated,
as free-lance, with Italian and international magazines. In
Italy he has been working especially with the "Gazetta dello
sport magazine" for many years till now. Very fond of sports,
Stefano Pavesi carried out several stories about sports
activities around the world among which the bull racing
(courses camargaises) in Camargue, South of France, an
exhaustive reportage on the most important national sports in
Yugoslavia such as football, water polo etc
He distinguishes himself by his great interest about current
events, reportage and research about main topics.
In fact, during these past years, he has carried out an
exhaustive work about the condition of prisoners in the Italian
juvenile jails, in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice.
This reportage has been well published in "Specchio" weekly
supplement of "La Stampa" newspaper.
Then he worked on project about minority groups of people in
Italy and the reception centre for Albanian refugees in South
Italy. In January 1998, he went to Germany to cover the Kurdish
community, taking pictures in several reception centers for
refugees and entered private houses.
From 6 months, Stefano G. Pavesi is carrying out an important
work about Northern League the supporters of Italy's secession
and Padania government and its leader Umberto Bossi. Parts of
this reportage have been frequently published in major Italian
magazines such as "Sette" weekly supplement of "Corriere della
Sera"."
